Seasports || our new RIB

Those of you that have been following our journey on facebook will know that we were super excited at the end of 2018, at the arrival of SeaSports II our fantastic new RIB (powerboat),  to be more precise our 8 metre Humber Ocean Pro, with 225 horsepower, which seats up to 8 people.  Sleek, sporty and full of potential!

Having been passed by MCA, we received RYA recognition for advanced power boating, after a lot of hard work we did it!!

So proud of what we have achieved … We (Tim, Sue and Sam) have come a long way since we bought our first RIB from Ebay, whilst setting up SeaSports up in 2007.  She is the result of relentless hard work, a few risks, and determination to be the best.

What’s next? Tim is of course already a long established advanced instructor and we now have lots of exiting new courses ready to offer in 2019 and some great packages to look out for too. While 2019 is definitely going to be a year for developing the powerboat side of the business it’s not all about the advanced courses.  We are encouraging the younger boaters to get out on the water safely with the introduction of the new Powerboat Level One course. This is a one day course aimed for the 8 to 14 year olds; a perfect opportunity for the kids growing up on the river to learn safely without having to wait until they are 14 to take the powerboat level 2 course.

2018 saw us running record numbers of Power boat Level Two courses and this year we intend to build on that by running more than ever of this great 2 day course. Many dates are already in the diary but don’t be afraid to ring and talk to us if these dates don’t work for you.

We will be running day skipper and coastal skipper/yachtmaster shorebased courses to compliment the new Intermediate and Advanced Powerboat courses to bring navigation and skippering skills up to par. These theory courses are just as suitable for sail as they are for power. These fascinating 5 and 6 day courses are aimed at skippers intending to go day cruising and those going more offshore and navigation after dark.
