COURSE DESCRIPTION: RYA Day Sailing includes passage planning and decision making for small boat cruising. An essential and fun part of every enthusiast’s skill set.

This busy 2-day course covers the theoretical steps of preparing and planning a journey. The theory is then put into practice on a day’s sail, following your planned route.

The course will include:

· Anchoring

· Total inversion recovery (turtling)

· Use of a GPS

· Tidal heights and streams

· Weather

· Using a compass

· Dead reckoning

It would be an advantage for sailors wishing to take part in this course to be able to carry out manoeuvres covered in the Seamanship Skills course syllabus.
